Danbala Wèdo and his wife Ayida Wèdo are the serpent and the rainbow. Together they represent birth and creation and are associated with movement, wealth and life. Danbala is the supreme Rada serpent deity — often portrayed as Saint Patrick.
Ezili Freda is the Rada feminine spirit of love. She is often portrayed as the Virgin Mary. Ezili Dantò is the Petwo mother warrior spirit known for her protectiveness. She is usually portrayed as dark-skinned as opposed to Ezili Freda, who is light-skinned. Ezili Je Wouj (red eyes) is a jealous and dangerous Petwo spirit. Ezili Dantò and Ezili Je Wouj walk together.
Ogou is a Petwo warrior spirit with strong principles of intelligence, pioneering and justice. He is the husband of Ezili Dantò. Together they can provide powerful protection for their followers.
Legba is the Rada guardian of the gate between the spirit and the material world. He is the god of the highways and crossroads.
